I have been wearing it In high winds off the ocean and it stays in place without a chin tie as there is a tie around the base of the head piece! The brim is moldable but not too stiff and the width of the brim is great to keep sun off my face if sitting and reading, or walking along a windy beach. It rolls up for beach bag and suitcase as well. It was more money than I have ever spent on a sun hat, but it is also the last one I will need to buy! Will be buying it for family and friends. Love it!
