This week I’m changing focus from the East Coast of Australia to the North Shore of Hawaii, where the annual big wave Quiksilver Eddie Aikau surf event is being hosted.

I was recently invited by my alma mater, the University of Calgary Business School, to be a part of a group of panelists to discuss the topic of leadership with their MBA students.
Wild weather on the east coast of Australia this past week! You might have heard that the state of Queensland is suffering major flooding, and everywhere else has had their share of stormy weather. Thankfully, I was able to stay dry in a friend’s sailboat whilst testing out a pair of Quiksilver walkshorts.
I wasn’t sure how to start my blog this week. Things like “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing”, or “It was fun while it lasted” or “I think my thighs are stronger bigger”, ran through my head.
During the festive season I took a short flight south to Melbourne and drove to a small beach town called Portsea, where I spent my first warm Christmas and New Years. During my trip I was able to surf, swim, fish, sail and even help out at the local Surf Life Saving Club.
