It’s Women’s Week! On Thursday, March 8th, 2018 we take one day to celebrate the progress and achievements of women around the world. Women supporting women has become more than a vision at Swimco- it’s the foundation on which our company was built. It’s what sets us apart; we are a strong, team of 230 women who celebrate our customers and our co-workers 365 days a year.
It Only Takes One
Swimco began as a mail order swimwear company started by Corrine Forseth in 1975. From her Calgary basement, she launched a business based on promoting confidence, self-love, and body positivity. The work of one woman was passed on to her daughter, Lori Bacon, who remains President and Co-Owner of Swimco today. Together with her Co- Owners, Steve Forseth, and Vice President of Operations, Dave Bacon, Lori has built a team of empowered women who are dedicated to inspiring confidence. The styles, the brands, and the size of our family have changed a lot over the years; however, our mission and our vision have never wavered.

With the surge of body positivity flooding our society, we decided that it was time to make our voice heard. We are women who support women and inspire them to feel confident in themselves. We decided to take on our biggest challenge yet: we wanted to redefine what it means to be a #swimsuitmodel. Our goal was to change the way we think about our bodies and what it means to be beautiful. It isn’t about being perfectly toned, having the best booty, or the skinniest arms, it’s about celebrating the life that your body lets you live! So we want to show real bodies in our campaigns; real people living aspirational lives. It’s important to us that we show our customers that our models are just like them- women with real bodies who lead aspirational lives. We want to feel confident and know they belong in our store and in our swimwear. What makes a body beautiful is that it’s YOURS.
