Swimwear For Bump, Baby & Beyond

Swimming is a great way to stay active and healthy during pregnancy, plus the cool feeling of the water and sensation of buoyancy can really help ease any discomfort during the later stages. There’s a stylish swimwear option for every mom-to-be. These pieces, while not technically maternity styles, are great for barely showing, full blown bumps, and after baby as well.

For bikini options, we have several Swimco Mom approved pieces, modelled by our own lovely Suzanne, like the Seafolly Goddess DD Cup Halter. This style has a supportive fit with wide, soft tie halter and back straps so you can adjust the fit as you grow. Pair with comfortable roll top bottoms – a customer favourite because they don’t dig in. Any of our Azura bikini tops with soft ties that are adjustable around the back are also a great choice for during pregnancy. For extra coverage on the bottom, we love the Seafolly Roll Top Boyshort.

If you want more coverage on top, tankinis are our first choice. One pieces can be a tough fit while pregnant and don’t transition to post-baby as well as separates can. Also, many women need different sizing on the top and bottom so the ability to mix and match gets you a fantastic fit. Styles that sit away from the tummy, like the Beach House Bayview Flounce Bandini or a flutterkini from Profile are floaty and flattering.

Ladies with larger busts definitely need support, especially during pregnancy. Bra sized tops, like the Seafolly Goddess DD Cup Halter Singlet, have a secure fit. Also look for ruching on tankinis, the gentle gathers can expand as your belly grows.

Lastly, if you plan on being in the pool quite a bit for aqua aerobics or swimming, a polyester swimsuit will stand up to the chlorine. The Soleil Swim Polyester Sport Top has a tie around the bottom for a secure fit. Pair with the Soleil Swim Polyester Sport Soft Top Bottoms for longer hours in the pool. Top off the athletic look with the Roxy Endless Summer 2” Stretch Boardshorts. The soft roll top waistband on these shorts makes them a great cover up choice for any expectant moms.
