Fit Series – Tummy Tamers

One of the most common requests we hear from customers is “please help me hide the post-baby stomach/muffin top/tummy”, and any other areas near their midsection! A curvaceous figure is nothing to hide, but if a waist-minimizing style boosts your confidence, then here are our top-tips.

A well-structured swimsuit can work miracles on a waistline, just like a supportive top makes all the difference for your bustline. Look for one pieces or tankinis with built-in tummy control and extra Lycra to help pull everything in nicely. Miraclesuits are some of our best-sellers because of their promise to take inches off (it isn’t just after holiday season that you want to look 10lbs lighter in 10 seconds!).

My personal favourite feature for slimming a tummy is ruching. This visually minimizes our stomach area and adds feminine style to your swimwear. Look for textured details on areas you’d like to smooth over, like gathered sides, a ruched centre panel, or try a wrapped one piece for a serious hourglass silhouette.

Swimsuits that sit away from the body, like a flutterkini, or tankini with layered ruffles, float from your midsection and feel extra flirty.

4

Use colour and patterns to your advantage! Strategic blocks of dark and light colour can work wonders on a tummy. Slimming patterns, like stripes (yes, seriously!) make less of your middle, and hide any lumps or bumps that are on your mind.

3

Drawing the eye upward also helps elongate your frame and keep the focus on your top half, rather than your middle. V-necklines are bust flattering and frame your face, perfect if you have a larger top half. Smaller on top? Try a sultry demi-cup or push up style to add cleavage and this will detract from any midsection concerns.

And don’t think we’re saying you NEED coverage – one pieces and tankinis are great, but so are bikinis! Pick bottoms with fold over waistbands that can be adjusted to sit at your most flattering point, or check our best sellers for soft bottoms that won’t dig in. More tummy-taming bikini options are the trendy high waist bottoms. Calling all curvy beach babes! This retro shape has your name all over it.
