On the Catwalk

At a recent Swimco fashion show, our new men’s summer lines were unveiled in full force. New trends include geometric shapes, bright colours and plaid; all of which have an added stretch in their fabric for added comfort and flexibility.

With so many options for prints, it’s easy to end up wearing a mismatched outfit with too much going on. I find pairing a busy short with a simple tee or tank top looks much better than an entire suit of geometric shapes splayed upon you. As you can see in the above photos, plaid, geometric or multi-coloured shorts are always paired with a plainer top.

Plaid is easy to wear and can be dressed down for the beach or dressed up for a more formal occasion. With Spring Break around the corner, a plaid short is great for a resort getaway where you find yourself going between the golf course and the beach. Pair them with a solid polo shirt on land, or with a rashguard in the ocean, and vacation in comfort!

Surf brands worldwide have introduced ‘stretch’ boardshorts; Quiksilver’s Diamond Dobby, Hurley’s Phantom, O’Neill’s Superfreaks, and Billabong’s Platinum X are all ridiculously comfortable to wear.

If you’re not sure which of these trends are for you, ask one of our Fit Experts to help you find an outfit you’ll look awesome in. Enjoy your new summer gear, and let me know how the product works out for you.
